Riccardo Santoboni (Rome, 1964), Full professor in harmony, counterpoint, fugue and composition at “Conservatorio di Musica” of Bari and in Computer Music at “Accademia Musicale Pescarese”. Santoboni holds degrees in musical composition (with F. d’Avalos) and in computer music (with G.Nottoli). Master courses in composition (with F. Donatoni) at “Accademia Musicale di S. Cecilia” and in computer music at “Accademia Musicale Chigiana”. Further degrees in orchestral conducting , in “choir composition and conducting”, in “big band orchestration” as well as a degree in “Mathematics – Science of Media”. Riccardo is the winner of several international competitions in computer music and in musical composition. He is also teaching “Acoustics and Psychoacoustics in Music” at Masters in Sonic Arts of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” and “Computer Music” at the Conservatorio of Music “S. Cecilia” in Rome. Among many universities and research groups, he was guest professor at NYU Steinhardt in 1998 and 2000. He places side by side the activity of composer and orchestral conductor. He founded and conducts the Nabla ensemble; an ensemble specialized in contemporary and multimedia music repertory.His research is focused on the Human Computer Interactions for musical composition and for live performing.
