Carsten Kümmel

Carsten Kümmel studied Tonmeister in Detmold, Germany from 1997 till 2002.  Already before and during the study he worked in live sound with known Artists as the Swiss composer DJ Bobo and other German Acts. After his studies he mainly kept on working in live sound for Artists like Robin Gibb (BeeGees 2004 – 2012), Al Bano Carrisi, Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann, The Harlem Gospel Singers, Eurovision Song Contest (2008 in Belgrad and 2017 in Kiew), and many others. His work is especially known in complex environments with and without orchestras. For example: Thurn und Taxis Schloßfestspiele (since 2004), Szeged Klassik Festival (together with Verona the oldest open-air music festival in the world), Autosymphonic in Mannheim 2011 (125th jubilee of the automobile symphonic orchestra, Choir, Pop singers, 30 percussionists and 120 cars in surround), UFA classic Festival (Russia), the Pop-Oratories „The ten commitments“ and „Luther“ (Orchestra, band, soloists and up to 4200 singers), Scorpions, BBC Planet Earth tours since 2015, The World of Hans Zimmer Tour 2018/19, Anne-Sophie Mutter, The Royal Philharmonics  and several Disney in concert tours. In 2018 he became a client of Supersecretagents.com which is a Los Angeles and New York based management for outstanding sound engineers. Since 2014 he owns a professor´s chair at the university of applied sciences in Darmstadt for live sound. He gives seminars and workshops at multiple universities in Germany, Russia, Hungary, Austria and Switzerland.
