Marco Massimi

He is graduated in “sound design for electronic music” at Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA); he is member of AES (audio engineers society). He studied double bass at the Conservatory of Frosinone  “L. Refice”. He attended the specialization course with Steve Swallow and a course in arrangement for Big Bands with Roberto Pregadio. He studied fretless bass with Ares Tavolazzi. He is teacher Steinberg qualified for the platforms “Wavelab”, “Nuendo”, “Cubase SX”. From 2006 to 2010 he taught “audio mastering” at the Master in Sound Engineering held by the University of Rome, “Tor Vergata”. He taught “electro-acoustics” at the Conservatory “Steffani” of Castelfranco Veneto. At the moment he teaches “sound engineering” at the Conservatory “L.Refice” of Frosinone.  He collaborated as a tutor for various project at RAI (“Radio Televisione Italiana”), in collaboration with University of Rome “Tor Vergata” and University “La Tuscia”. He has been recording engineer at the CSS2 center from 1996 to 2009. He worked as sound engineer in various live concerts and for RAI in the programs: “Domenica In”, “Tunnel”, “Producer”, “La storia siamo noi”, “Voyager”. He has worked as install and setup engineer for the company “Agorà” within the tours of Eros Ramazzotti, Laura Pausini, Renato Zero, Ennio Morricone. Sound designer in the film “L’ora nona” (directed by Angelo Bianchi) and  in various productions RAI  (“Reagans”, “The power of nightmares”, “La storia siamo noi”, “C’era una volta”). For RAI he took care of the sound of artists like Gino Vannelli, Barry White, Michael Bolton, Sting, Elvis Costello, Mother Earth, Giorgia, Ligabue, Teresa De Sio, Al di Meola, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, John Abercrombie, Giorgia, Rossana Casale, Tosca, Luca Barbarossa, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Scott Henderson, Hiram Bullock, Mike Stern and many others. His works as sound engineer have been released by various labels (RAI Trade, Sony, Venus, BMG). From 2000 he has played the electric bass in the RAI Orchestra in various shows: “Cercando Cercando”, “Telethon, “Dono D’amore”, “Cenerentole”, “La Notte dei Campioni”, “Scommettiamo Che”, “Ciao Alberto”. He joined jazz ensembles and Big Bands (like the one of the Conservatory of Frosinone). He played in various ensembles directed by M° Pregadio. He plays the electric bass for: Ennio Morricone, Solomon Burke, Emy Stewart, Ron, Fausto Leali, Neffa, Enrico Ruggeri, Massimo Ranieri, Pooh. He played double bass with the Universe Orchestra directed by Marco Tiso within the tour of the musical “Un americano a Parigi” (by Cristian De Sica), in the Orchestra of Quincy Jones, in the concert “We are the Future” at Circo Massimo (Rome). He was firs double bass of the RAI Orchestra during the 51° edition of “Festival di San Remo”.
